Why not come and join the Church Weekend Away which provides another great opportunity to connect with the extended church family spending time together in relaxed surroundings, enjoying fun and fellowship and taking time out to listen to God’s
Word together.
 
Andrew and Katherine Cornes will be joining us from the south coast of England. They have been married for 32 years and have raised five children. Andrew served as curate (assistant minister) for 12 years at two high profile churches: St Michael-le-Belfry in York, and All Soul's Langham Place in London. After 3 years as rector of a church in Pittsburgh, USA, he was a vicar in Crowborough, south of London, for 26 years until his retirement in 2015.
 
Andrew will work with us through the topic of:
 
How the cross affects every part of life .

Landgut Engelsbach is situated in the beautiful “Thüringer Wald” and offers a wide variety of recreational activities and places of interest in the surrounding area.

CHILDREN’S MINISTRY

There will be children’s ministry available during the sessions. For children under 3 years a crèche will be
run by the parents.
 

YOUTH MINISTRY

Youth are encouraged to join the adults during the sessions. They will however have their own small group.

TRANSLATION / ÜBERSETZUNG

The sessions will be in English, however, simultaneous translation into German will be available via headsets. / Die Sessions werden auf Englisch gehalten und simultan über Kopfhörer ins Deutsche übersetzt. Please indicate on the registration form if you would like translation. / Bitte gebt bei der Anmeldung Euer Interesse an einer Übersetzung an. There will be small groups in English and German.
 

GETTING THERE

By Coach
 
This year a coach has been booked for the transfer from Leipzig to Landgut Engelsbach. The return
journey costs 20€ per person.
 
Departures:
Friday 2 June. – Andreaskirche, Scharnhorststr. 29 at 4pm
Monday 5 June – Landgut Engelsbach at 11am (back in Leipzig about 1pm)

Places are limited! Please reserve a seat when registering!
 
By car - Driving directions

By train
Travelling by train is possible, however, probably not the most convenient option as it involves switching trains and then taking a bus.
 

WHAT TO BRING

  • Bed linen* (duvet cover, pillowcase and bedsheet), towels**
  • Bible, notebook, pen
  • Cakes and biscuits to share during breaks
  • Sports clothing
  • Swimming costumes, sunscreen
  • Warm clothes and raingear (just in case)

*Bed linen can be ordered. Cost: 5€ per person.

**Towels can be ordered. Cost: 2,50€ per person.

WHAT NOT TO BRING

  • Anything which contains alcohol

*If you plan to camp it is necessary to bring your own tent. Sanitary facilities available.
